Fishing

Staying at Windrush Turret Lodge puts you right at the heart of some of the best fishing in the Cotswolds. With free fishing on Windrush and Isis Lakes included in your stay, and more than 70 other lakes in the wider Cotswold Lakes, you can enjoy everything from relaxed family sessions to more focused angling days – all from a comfortable lakeside base.

Free Fishing On Windrush & Isis Lakes

Guests at Windrush Turret Lodge can fish Windrush and Isis Lakes at no extra cost during their stay. These are well-established carp, coarse and fly fishing lakes, set within a peaceful, secure development that feels a world away from busy day-ticket waters.

You can wander down from the lodge and be set up within minutes. There are a number of well positioned fishing platforms and locations to fish from. The lakeside banks are generally gentle and grassy, making it easy to settle in for a few hours with the family or head out early for a quiet morning on your own. With carp and a good mix of coarse species in the lakes, there’s enough variety to keep both casual and more experienced anglers happy.

Because fishing is for residents only, the banks are rarely crowded. It’s an ideal setting if you prefer an unhurried day by the water, or if you’re introducing children to fishing for the first time and want somewhere calm and manageable.

Carp & Coarse Fishing In The Cotswold Lakes

The Cotswold Lakes is one of the UK’s most varied freshwater fishing destinations, with over 70 lakes of different sizes and characters. From intimate, tree-lined waters to larger, open lakes, there are plenty of options if you’d like to explore beyond Windrush and Isis.

Carp anglers will find waters known for quality fish and longer sessions, while coarse anglers can target bream, tench, roach, perch and more across different venues. Many lakes are run on a day-ticket or syndicate basis, with a range of rules, stocking levels and facilities, so you can tailor your days out to the style of fishing you enjoy most.

If some of your group would rather be on the water than beside it, there are also nearby lakes offering paddleboarding and other watersports, so it’s easy to mix a dedicated angling break with a broader family holiday.
